Fall.

Last night we left the windows open. The low was to get down to low 50's, high 40's. Heaven. We woke up to the cool morning air snuggled under our blanket. I busted out an outfit I've been dying to wear, but have waited for the perfect cool day. I started my work day off watching a movie (added bonus, nothing to do with the weather), and picked up coffee and a croissant on my way into work. Thank goodness, I get to do some out-of-office errands this afternoon, because I might cry if I have to miss anymore of this gorgeous weather. Seriously, my office has no windows. I'm currently conjuring up a plan to convince the boss man that we should go find a patio and work outside for the rest of the day.

Take outside people.

New Beginnings.

Again.

You know, life gets in the way sometimes and obviously this little blog is not at the top of my priority list, but it is still nice to come back to when things slow down.

This is from last Saturday at the Ole Miss v Texas game. We ventured down to The Grove to join the festivities. We didn't have tickets, but Jason scored a free ticket from a friend who's girlfriend had a little too much fun and I was going to try and scalp a ticket but all the tickets were gone...sad. It ended up being a crappy game anyway. This weekend we are venturing to Tallahassee to watch my Noles play Clemson. This girl is super pumped!

Til the next time.

Run Report - 2.8.12

Just under 3mi in 24:30 that, according to dailymile.com is an 8:16ppm

This run was squeezed in after work and the pup gave me her best puppy eyes and convinced me to take her along. We started off fast, and I felt good, so I let her tug me along and then I realized that we'd have to make this a shorter run because neither of us would have made it at that pace very long. Then, of course, she had to stop and use the restroom like 5 times and she HAD to smell every other mailbox which can be really annoying, but then she also has the ability to motivate me. Crazy, I know. She wouldn't let me slow my pace up a couple hills and then at the end she drug me along at a nice clip allowing me to have a really fast run. I was pleased and the dog still had tons of energy so I let her run off-leash in the front yard to run like a crazy. Then she passed out on the sofa for the rest of the night  like so...

Run Report 2.7.12

Last night we went to watch the Grizzlies...lose. It was so close, which made for a fun game to watch. We got free box tickets from a friend's dad, so that was pretty exciting and the seats were amazing. Unfortunately, we got to bed late, which made this mornings wake-up call a snooze sesh, so I opted to defer my run to lunchtime.

Today's Run:

5.25mi in 45:26 that's around 8:40ppm

Lunchtime solo run following the same route as yesterday. Again, I was overdressed in tights and long sleeves, but I did remember the Body Glide this time. It was warm and sunny, but I was struggling. Obviously, I ran better than yesterday, but I hadn't eaten all day (again, I am no role model when it comes to properly training) and my legs felt like bricks. I can already feel them beginning to get sore. Lovely. Also, I am now incredibly tired.

No One's Gonna Do It For Ya.

Hey Folks,
Life has changed so much and I just haven't done so hot at this whole blogging thing. I kinda fell off the running wagon, so I've been desperately grasping at any motivation to get me back in the saddle. I've still managed to crank out some decent runs with my running buddies, but I haven't kept up with my weekly mileage. Don't ask me how I haven't hurt myself yet, because it is totally not recommended that you run long distances without keeping a high weekly mileage count. But with spring right around the corner I'm starting to get the running bug again, more like, I've started to enjoy running again. Presently, I have no race goals, but after I build my base mileage back up, I'll consider some races. With that, I plan to start posting my run reports again. I think that was the most consistent I had ever been about blogging - whatever works.

So a short blurb about today's run:

5.25mi in approx. 47:30 that's right around 9ppm

It was an early morning solo run through the neighborhood with temps around 40F. I had forgotten to grease up and could instantly feel some road rash from my sports bra. Luckily, I had gloves with me that I ended up taking off in the first few minutes, so I shoved one of those babies between my skin and bra and it worked wonders. I toted around the shuffle which played some pretty inspiring music. Best of all, I got to watch to sunrise on a beautiful day.  I wouldn't take those 47 and some odd minutes back for anything.

Stone Soup Cafe.

Today's lunch date at Stone Soup Cafe, was superb. I found out about this little gem here. Located in an old house in Midtown Memphis, this sweet lunch/breakfast spot serves up some hearty soups and "sammies"as well as other yummy options. I had the Chicken Breast with Spinach and Feta Sammie and Jason had the Bacon, Lettuce and Grilled Green Tomato Sammie. While Jason had the standard side of potato chips, I opted for the grilled zucchini topped with parmesan cheese, which was definitely worth the $1 upgrade. I think next time we'll mix it up and try the soup.
