Weekend in Pix

This weekend was pretty busy. I met up with my friend for beers at the TN Brewery on it's last Friday in existence. I got some decent running and pool time in and wrapped it up with some family time with a dinner at my sisters house. FYI I woke up sore on Monday morning from all of my "play time" with the kiddo. When I play, I'm 100%.
Fried Eggs and Sweet Potato Hash

It was too pretty not to take a picture.

French Bread Pizzas. Yummy. Yes I ate all of this. I was planning on a long run.

Delayed AM run = AM pool time.
It might be the last case of Cold Snap in the country and now it's mine.

Early morning runs, mean early morning wake ups. Someone did not want to get up.

6.2.14 Run Report

It was my first run downtown in a couple weeks, so it was a nice change up. Tom Lee Park was back open to pedestrians after it had been closed for Memphis in May. Luckily, it was partly cloudy, but I sure could have used a river breeze. Any way, I wanted to do a "shorter" run because I opted to skip a rest day. Felt fast, felt good. I did however take the wrong key with me and ended up locked out of the office. Luckily, my coworker lives relatively close so he came and let me in. Whoops!

Just a little sweaty...

6.1.14 Run Report

10.01mi, 1:33:56, 9:23ppm

Not the best of runs for me, but I was very proud that I completed a goal. For some reason, I really wanted to run 10mi this weekend. Unfortunately, we had limited time on the trails, so I knew I'd have to get up and run on Sunday. I set out, this time with the iPhone/podcasts to help me pass the time. Its like I knew it wasn't going to be the best of runs before I even started. I stopped halfway to get some water at CVS. I noticed that my tank was completely soaked; it was just terribly humid. I had many opportunities to cut the run short, including when I got back to the complex at 9.10mi....Eff it, I might as well finish it out and I did. I did have to stop two or three times to catch my breath and wipe my sweat, but I made it. I'm just going to bank on all this heat training to really pay off in the fall...

5.31.14 Run Report

5:15mi, 56:31mm:ss, 10:58ppm

A lovely, but short trail run with Olivia. It was quite humid and later in the day, so a little warmer than we're used to, but the woods always helps to cool things down. It was muddy, not fun mud, but mud that sticks and clops to your shoes causing potentially hazardous conditions. It was still a good time though. We ran across a new memorial that was posted on the blue trail. Quite sad actually. We stopped to pay our respects and make some cool twig crosses to place next to the memorial. We later discovered that this gentleman had had a heart attack while riding the trails; so, so sad, but at least he was doing what he loved! If I ever have a fatal heart attack, I would want it to be in the woods. It is a magical place.
